Wouldn’t you like to have a vintage Singer automatic zigzagger for your vintage sewing machine? This auction features the accessory designed “to produce an infinite variety of attractive ornamental designs…Such decorative effects as applique, scalloped edges, border designs, as well as blind stitched hems and simple mending can be produced.” Further, “with the flick of a lever, plain sewing may be done without removing the zigzagger from the sewing machine.” This attachment was designed to give the early straight stitch machines a zigzag capability. It fits all low shank machines, including most 66s (not 66-1 or 66-3), class 15, 99, 201, 306, 319, and many more, as well as the beloved Featherweight Models 221 and 222. The attachment is in good used condition. The black painted finish has light wear, with a few dings, smudges or scratches. The original discs are numbered 161000, 161001, 161002 and 161003, and these are in also in good used condition. Please note that the templates have been checked, and are all the original ones issued with the attachment itself, with no “switching around” with some of the set #2 red cams, as sometimes happens. I didn’t see any dings in the nice red paint, so I assume these saw little use. In addition to these original templates, I’ve added the second set of stitch patterns, in their original box and with the original instruction leaflet which would have some with them. There is moderate wear on the box, including discolored old tape, plus other marks of wear and age, but it will hold all the extras quite well for many years to come. An original instruction booklet for the attachment is included, and is also in GOOD used condition. The covers have a few small marks, including a couple of dirt (?) spots on the back. There is a strong crease down the middle from being stored in the box for a long time. The interior pages are clean and bright, with no writing or other “damage” that I saw. The staples are just starting to rust, and are holding all the pages together just fine. The original box is also included here and has heavy wear. This can be improved with taping, which I leave to the new owner. The divider pieces, which come in the box bottom, are in place to keep everything separated during storage. Please check all the pictures carefully – sometimes my camera “sees” more than my eyes! All in all, this is a functioning set in good used condition to have for making the most use of your vintage low shank Singer sewing machine!
