ONE 2-ounce bottle of THICK Viscosity GEL CA “Super Glue” HYPERBOND brand by CA-Plus adhesives – sold by Rabid Models The product comes in a “pin-cap” bottle, which help prevent clogs, and seals well to provides the best shelf life. The applicator nozzle has a screw-on cap. GEL CA is clear and almost the same consistency as toothpaste – since it’s a gel, it won’t run. This means it stays where you put it and can be used on vertical surfaces. It works great on very rough items like unpolished stone, rough ceramic, coral, concrete and the like. Activator is not needed but may be used as a “pretreatment” on surfaces to speed the cure. GEL CA takes much longer to dry than regular CA, making it really handy for jobs where you need extra working time. It can be used to fill large gaps or glue together items that are rough or don’t fit together very well. Regular CA doesn’t work well in those cases. GEL CA can be even used underwater – it can be used to attach live coral and other decorations inside of fish tanks. Use it to glue and mount coral frags and colonies to reef rock or plugs. This glue is non-toxic to marine life. It can be used underwater! (see directions below) Note: For best results, use as little glue as possible! CA is meant to be pressed between surfaces. One dab per square inch! Shake the product into the nozzle before dispensing. Press between damp surfaces and hold tight – it may take several minutes to set. Refrigerate for longest shelf life.Keep out of the reach of children. Directions to adhere frags, coral colonies, or for general aquascaping underwater: first test-fit the item onto the mounting site. Make note of the parts that are making contact. Retrieve the item and while it is not submerged, place a small amount of Gel CA to each contact point. Quickly put the item into place. A skin will form over the glue upon contact with the water – press the item down and break the “skin” of the glue, then hold firmly in place for at least 15 seconds. Check the the item is secure. If it is not, repeat this process to build up a little more glue on the site.Gel CA can also be used to bond rock work when aquascaping. If larger gaps need to be bridged, building up layers of glue or placing a smaller rock that bridges the gap and gluing over the top can work really well. You can also used sand to give the glue some texture and help blend it in When you are done, allow the glue to cure for 24 hours for it to reach full strength.
