Role of Youth in Nation Building

74.7KViews

Hi all !!!

It is well said that – “Youth is the joy, the little bird that has broken out of the eggs and is eagerly waiting to spread out its wings in the open sky of freedom and hope” What is the first word which comes to your mind when you listen the word Youth ? For me it’s Energetic, Passionate, Competitive, Irresponsible, Impulsive and Impossible !

Youths comprise that sphere of the societies which are yet the developing buds and are fate changers for a nation. It is the stage between childhood and becoming an adult. If utilized properly then this phase is really an exciting one, filled with a surplus desire to do something new but the question is how do they affect the nation or to be particular what role do they play in nation building ? Nation is not built on any one factor; it is built when development takes place in all the sectors.

Youth Entrepreneurship is an Emerging Trend in India. There are countless number of young Indian Entrepreneurs starting from Ritesh Agarwal who founded OYO rooms to Deepak Ravindran who founded Quest technologies which lets people answer someone else’s question which has been asked by a text message. Indian Youths are even working exceptionally well in the IT and research sector.  No one can question the talent of India’s youth after the success of the Mars Mission.

In fact, The youth of India has the strength to move the entire World with a click of a mouse, we have generated that ability ! . Through IT, India’s youth has surprised the entire World. And as it is correctly said by our Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi –  “There is no reason to be disappointed. Mother India has 250 crore arms, majority of which are of the youth, India will progress very fast and the skills of our youth will take India ahead and fulfil India’s dreams !!”

But the sector in which youths are lacking is Indian Political sector. – Young India has Old Political Leaders !! In fact the youths are the age group which has the lowest voter turnout. Imagine How would the Government of that country would be whose youths are not interested in choosing the leaders of their country !! We have a powerful potential in our youth, and we must have the courage to change old ideas and practices so that we may direct their power toward good ends.

As fuel is responsible for producing an ignition spark in the engine; the same way the youth is responsible for the nation. But the only thing is they are not given the proper environment due to which the youths are not aware of the things they are capable of. Youths are just like clay; they can be molded easily by the people around them. From their childhood they are taught to blame the government, to neglect what’s happening with the government of India and so they do so. They are not proud of their country because they don’t know that  “Your pride for your country should not come after your country becomes great; your country becomes great because of your pride in it.”. In India youths are considered irresponsible and incapable of handling anything on their own.

What they need is belief in them, bridging the gaps, proper guidance and social awareness. From the total population of India, it has 34% population which is youth while USA only has 14% youths but what makes their country better than ours ?They believe in practical knowledge unlike the youths in India who just fear marks. The mind-set of the youths has to be changed to make them realize that just a piece of paper can’t decide their future, their potential does, their hard work does. But this is not the only thing that gives America an edge over India, In America the kids are taught to be independent, starting from paying their education fees to making food while in India the kids are never fully independent.

The only key to break this cycle is to make the youths believe in themselves. And as it is beautifully said by Dhirubhai Ambani,  “Give the youth a proper environment. Motivate them, extend them the support they need, each one of them has infinite source of energy. They will deliver.” At the end, I would only like to say the youths that: “Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached.”

Because, the youth acts as a driving force of the nation. The all-round development and future of the nation depends upon the power and potential of the people residing over there and major contribution owes to the youth of that nation.
